How to Install a Dash Cam in Your Car (Step by Step)

Installing a dash cam is easier than you think. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to install the BAWAX Dual Lens Dash Cam 1080P in under 30 minutes.

What You'll Need

  • BAWAX Dual Lens Dash Cam 1080P Front & Rear
  • MicroSD card (Class 10, 32GB–128GB recommended)
  • The included power cable and mounts

Step 1: Choose Your Mounting Location

Mount the main unit on your windshield behind the rearview mirror — this gives you the best field of view without obstructing your vision. Clean the area with the included alcohol wipe before applying the mount.

Step 2: Position the Inside Camera

The inside cabin camera attaches to the main unit and points toward the rear seats. Adjust the angle to cover the full cabin.

Step 3: Run the Power Cable

Route the USB power cable along the edge of your windshield, down the A-pillar, and along the dashboard to your 12V port or USB adapter. Tuck the cable under the trim for a clean look.

Step 4: Install the Rear Camera

Run the rear camera cable from the main unit through the headliner and down to your rear windshield. Apply the rear camera mount and connect the cable.

Step 5: Insert the MicroSD Card and Power On

Insert your MicroSD card, plug in the power cable, and start your car. The dash cam will power on automatically and begin recording.

Step 6: Adjust Settings

Set the date/time, recording resolution (1080P recommended), and enable G-sensor and loop recording in the menu.

That's it — your BAWAX Dual Lens Dash Cam is ready to protect every drive. Shop it here.
